SULOM AGM - SALIMA

 SULOM ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING IN SALIMA 

Football Association of Malawi President, Feet hood Haiya has highlighted the following developments in this year's SULOM AGM.

- FAM has increased subvention to Sulom and Clubs . Each club will receive K35 million from the current K20 milliom 

- FAM Believes newly promoted sides,Red Lions, Baka City and Mitundu Baptist will do well in the elite division as they are the first to graduate from the National Division League. 

- Commends Sulom for administrative improvements .

- Applaudes Sulom for making strides in commercializing the league 

- FAM is engaging government and other football facility owners to improve infrastructure. 

- Calls on clubs to identify and communicate their home venues before start of the new season .

- FAM is working with government to speed up completion of Zomba Stadium so that it is in use in the upcoming season .

- To provide training to club physical fitness trainers .

- FAM is working with Sulom and other member association is a working on a slander that is aligned to the best practices

 Next season kicks off on 18th April with the Charity Shield Match between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers FC.

ON THE WAY TO WOMEN FIFA U20

SCORCHERS U20 ARE CLOSE TO POLAND. 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP   Malawi's Under-20 Women's Football team , the Junior Scorchers , are one step closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA U-20 World Cup after securing a spot in the final round of qualification with a 6-2 aggregate win over Guinea Bissau on Saturday The Scorchers started its journey in Guinea-Bissau with 1:1 forced draw because there, they came from behind.  Meanwhile, the same incident happened today at the Bingu National Stadium where the Scorchers coincided a goal In less 5 minutes of the match. By half-time it was 1:1 because the Scorchers equalised on 7 minutes.  During the second half, the team show a brilliant performance as they managed to score 4 goals. The match ended 5:1 in favour of Malawians but 6:2 on aggregate.  The team May face a giant Nigeria to qualify to the FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP U20 . #Writer: Steven Pangani   .

IRAN WITHDRAWS FIFA WORLD CUP   Iran 's sports minister Ahmad Donyamali says their men's national team won't play at the 2026 World Cup in the US due to the ongoing conflict. FIFA might need to find a replacement country if Iran refuses to participate. The US, Canada, and Mexico are hosting the tournament, and Iran was set to play in the US. This is the following of the War tension that is happening currently between United States of America and Iran. The War has started early this year because of death of Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei . There is fear that many sporting activities can be affected in Iran due to this War.
