MALAWI TO ATTEND COSAFA WOMEN'S 2025

Malawi National Women's Football Team has left the country to South Africa for the Hollywood bets COSAFA Women's Championship 2025, which will be staged in Polokwane, South Africa, from February 18 to March 1.

The Scorchers are in group A,along side South Africa, Lesotho and Angola.

The first match for Scorchers is on Wednesday against the host South Africa before facing Lesotho and Angola on 21 February and 24 February respectively.

The top teams in each pool and the best runner -up will advance to the semi-finals.

The semi final begins on Friday 27 February with the winner of group B face the winner of group C before the winner of group A conquers the best runner -up.

The tournament concludes on March 1 where the 2025 champions will be crowned.

Malawi has won the COSAFA women's championship once in in a time.

ON THE WAY TO WOMEN FIFA U20

SCORCHERS U20 ARE CLOSE TO POLAND. 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP   Malawi's Under-20 Women's Football team , the Junior Scorchers , are one step closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA U-20 World Cup after securing a spot in the final round of qualification with a 6-2 aggregate win over Guinea Bissau on Saturday The Scorchers started its journey in Guinea-Bissau with 1:1 forced draw because there, they came from behind.  Meanwhile, the same incident happened today at the Bingu National Stadium where the Scorchers coincided a goal In less 5 minutes of the match. By half-time it was 1:1 because the Scorchers equalised on 7 minutes.  During the second half, the team show a brilliant performance as they managed to score 4 goals. The match ended 5:1 in favour of Malawians but 6:2 on aggregate.  The team May face a giant Nigeria to qualify to the FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP U20 . #Writer: Steven Pangani   .

IRAN WITHDRAWS FIFA WORLD CUP   Iran 's sports minister Ahmad Donyamali says their men's national team won't play at the 2026 World Cup in the US due to the ongoing conflict. FIFA might need to find a replacement country if Iran refuses to participate. The US, Canada, and Mexico are hosting the tournament, and Iran was set to play in the US. This is the following of the War tension that is happening currently between United States of America and Iran. The War has started early this year because of death of Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei . There is fear that many sporting activities can be affected in Iran due to this War.
