BATTLE FOR FINAL QUALIFICATION HAS CONFIRMED

THE JUNIOR SCORCHERS WILL FIGHT NIGERIA TO COMPLETE QUALIFICATIONS

Malawi's Under-20 Women's Football team will face Nigeria in the final qualifying round of the 2026 Poland FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria beat Senegal 3-1 on aggregate, winning 2-1 on Saturday, while Malawi knocked out Guinea Bissau with a 6-2 aggregate win. 

The Junior Scorchers are the only COSAFA region team left in the tournament, after South Africa and Zambia were eliminated by Ghana and Uganda, respectively.

Malawi will likely travel to Nigeria for the first leg between May 1-3, 2026, with the return leg from May 8-10, 2026.  

Many Malawians are believing that our current Junior Schochers has good players because of Women National Bank Premier League .

ON THE WAY TO WOMEN FIFA U20

SCORCHERS U20 ARE CLOSE TO POLAND. 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP   Malawi's Under-20 Women's Football team , the Junior Scorchers , are one step closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA U-20 World Cup after securing a spot in the final round of qualification with a 6-2 aggregate win over Guinea Bissau on Saturday The Scorchers started its journey in Guinea-Bissau with 1:1 forced draw because there, they came from behind.  Meanwhile, the same incident happened today at the Bingu National Stadium where the Scorchers coincided a goal In less 5 minutes of the match. By half-time it was 1:1 because the Scorchers equalised on 7 minutes.  During the second half, the team show a brilliant performance as they managed to score 4 goals. The match ended 5:1 in favour of Malawians but 6:2 on aggregate.  The team May face a giant Nigeria to qualify to the FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP U20 . #Writer: Steven Pangani   .

IRAN WITHDRAWS FIFA WORLD CUP   Iran 's sports minister Ahmad Donyamali says their men's national team won't play at the 2026 World Cup in the US due to the ongoing conflict. FIFA might need to find a replacement country if Iran refuses to participate. The US, Canada, and Mexico are hosting the tournament, and Iran was set to play in the US. This is the following of the War tension that is happening currently between United States of America and Iran. The War has started early this year because of death of Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei . There is fear that many sporting activities can be affected in Iran due to this War.
